ColourfulTone® Mastering & Post-Mastering

You cannot heal the digital with more digital.

To our ears, music turns into math the moment it touches the digital realm. While our perceptual systems may struggle to adapt, we have discovered that this loss — though tragic to some — actually unlocks unprecedented new possibilities.

Moving beyond standard analog techniques, our process rejects AI and software to give digital music a new, (in)organic, and brilliant soul.

What we give back is not an effect. It is closer to a restoration — the return of what was present when the instruments were played and the space was listening, and which the passage into digital form had quietly removed — and perhaps something more.

It is analog in the deepest sense — no plug-ins, no emulations, no digital processing of any kind touches the core of the work. The workflow itself, its geometry, and twenty years of refinements align with the metal, the wood, and the strings of the instruments themselves, with the deeper source of the voices, and with musical harmony at large.

Every project is treated as a commission rather than as a service. The projects we take on are few; time itself is an essential part of the work.

“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

— Hamlet, Act I, Scene V
